We are proud to partner with Framingham Public Schools as well as with Daniel’s Table to provide fresh produce, canned goods, and frozen meals, with Dignity Matters to provide menstrual care supplies, and with Hope & Comfort to distribute hygiene essentials to families in need in Framingham. Our weekly station on Wednesdays is held alongside Framingham Public Schools’ daily distribution of breakfast and lunch to students. Hygiene products included soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and menstrual sanitary pads. Food items included cans of tuna, assorted frozen meats, fresh and frozen vegetables, pasta, snacks and more.
Three weeks ago during our sixth distribution of food and personal care items at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Framingham, JFS handed out personal care items and bags of food to families and individuals in the community! Additionally, many thanks to Alex Depalo of the Framingham Health Department, who brought us 80 children’s cloth face masks, all of which were distributed with the personal care and food bags. Thank you Sam Wong for your strong leadership during these difficult times!
Last week at our eighth distribution, JFS partnered with the Learning Express store of Needham to provide learning toys and materials for the community! Toys were bundled based on academic grade level and handed out alongside the personal care and food bags. In total, 104 toy bundles were distributed to families at this distribution!
Items were purchased using the Wilson Learning Materials Fund, a project that was spearheaded by long time supporter, volunteer and board member Jodi Bring and her husband Ken. Many thanks to Jodi and Ken for their continued support and commitment to JFS and our shared community! Interested in donating to the Wilson Learning Materials Fund? These events are held at Woodrow Wilson every Wednesday from 10 AM-1 PM, and all community members are welcome to pick up bags.
Collaboration is critical at this time, we can all do so much more to support our community through this crisis when we are working together. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to our donors, volunteers and community partners for their collaboration, support, and commitment to our shared community!
